Hello, I came across your wonderful home and followed the link to your web page. What great job you have done both in researching and presenting the history as well as the restoration. I have done some construction and I take pride in my work. I do not know if you did the renovation yourselves or if you hired outside help, but from what I can see in the pictures, the work is excellent. My fiance is also excited about the mansion since she is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and does a great deal of historical research. You really did some great work in getting the data together and putting up the website. Anyway, I just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for doing what you have done in restoring such a beautiful bit of history and sharing the story with others. I bid you all the best in your future endeavors with all you do. Take care, good luck and bravo for what you have done with the place. Best regards, Ted Bookless & Jane Mulligan

I've always loved this grand old house. Over the years I've often found myself driving by while wondering about it's future. It was last spring when I noticed that something seemed to be going on with the place - then came the S-R article last July. Now I've finally visited your website and I have to say "thanks." Thanks for a terrific site - for the time and resources that you two have chosen to devote to it - this beautiful structure - and to our community's architectural heritage. Nice job!! Michael Patoray

You guys have done an awesome job restoring this beauty. Thank you for sharing it with everyone and thank you for all the information you have on your sight. We will enjoy watching you project continue. I have had clients in this neighborhood and have been curious as to what wonderful things were happening inside. The work I do is often emotional so I would park on the street outside the house to eat my lunch. This gave me a chance to regroup before I went on to the next client. I left this job in January to go back to school to finish my Masters, but I often think about the house and wonder how it is doing. My husband mentioned this morning that he thought he might have gone to school with Mike at Gonzaga Prep. If so what a small world. Renee’ Renee' Siers Siers2u Training and Consulting

Hi Mike and Steven, Enjoyed reading about your makeover in todays News tribune. We also enjoyed your wonderful web site and will "favorite it" to keep up on your progress. We are currently considering a Victorian down in Weiser Idaho to restore, with the idea of a Bed and Breakfast. I have been through several restorations and for some strange reason I'm itching to get into another one. Take care and keep up the good work, Spokane is a better place because of you. Take care, Mark Ryan and Scot Stout.

Dear Steven and Michael, I enjoyed your article in today's "Today's Section" in the SR and enjoyed viewing your website even more! What a spendid job you have undertaken with the restoration of your home. In the late 70's I was looking for an apartment to rent and looked at the Muzzy Mansion apartments and fell in love with the place and thought at the time that this must have been one grand home at one time. My over protective Father would not co-sign for me to rent there, he had heard it was an area of "druggies" so I ende up in a cute little apartment about a mile east of there. But your place was on my jogging route so I passed it almost daily, always visualizing what a little TLC could do to bring her back to her former glory. By the pictures and info you so generously share on your website, it is most evident the depth of your love and commitment to you restoration. My husband and I just opened up our Bed & Breakfast: DannyAnn's, up here in Newport, Wa. after a three year restoration project of our own.....what an adventure! Our project wasn't as big as yours but still a big undertaking that was worth every effort. Our home is a 1907 Craftsman and with every task we encountered, our home came to a charming life. We are very pleased. Best wishes on your restoration and if you ever find yourselves up here in Newport, please feel free to stop by for a spot of tea or a glass of wine. Cordially, Terri Ann Chott DannyAnn's B&B 131 N. Spokane Ave. PO Box 1903 Newport, WA. 99156

Mike and Steve, Thank you for sharing your home and it's history in the Spokesman Review article today. I also visited your website and wow - what a wonderful job! How lucky you both are too to have found so much information on it's history and previous owners. I didn't quite figure out what part of North Spokane you are situtated in but what a treasure you both have! I grew up in the Spokane Valley as well as both of my parents and relatives. I remember back in the 3rd grade (circa 1973) going on a field trip to The Campbell House and the museum over in the Brown's addition. Well, that sparked my love for old homes and old architecture! Even though I have never had the privelege of owning an old home from that era, my husband and I did purchase a home built in 1943 in Coeur d' Alene as our first home. We were the 2nd owners and it was a dollhouse. We loved it and made it look like a dollhouse! I am the oldest great grandaughter and granddaughter on both sides of my family. Guess who has been "blessed" with many wonderful gifts of the past from several generations. I feel I am the "keeper" for awhile but have embraced that as a privelege and an honor. Aunts have given me things also that really should of gone to their daughters but knew I appreciated their beauty and sentiment and have entrusted their care to me. My daughter will someday inherit these gifts and I am greatful she shares the same love that I do. Thank you again for sharing your wonderful home and it's history. It is so refreshing to see young people as yourselves (well, were probably all about the same age!) get enthused about an old home and restoring it's beauty. I hope to see more of that in others as the years go by. Thanks again - you made my morning! Jami Stuart Spirit Lake, Id
