Oh guys! I'm so sorry about the way the city hall 'officialdumbs' have treated you. Please don't think that all of Spokane is like them. I love what you have done for a wonderful old house and I wish you could stay here in the great home you have created. I will miss you both. I so admire the great vision you have to be able to see the promise in a rundown, neglected old house. Please know that I'll be thinking of you and wishing the best for you when you move to Seattle. We seem to lose all our best people to the big city.
Love to you both, Carol Staples

Dearest Steve and Mike,
I just can not Thank You both enough for the wonderful time we had at the Mansion. You both are the perfect hosts. From my first step with Mike opening that fabulous front door to the departure after breakfast and a great hot bath in that wonderful tub. It is a time we will treasure always. The best of everything to you both always.
Christie and Derald

Dear Steven and Mike, Thank you for a wonderful stay last weekend. Muzzy Mansion was the perfect place for us to be while in Spokane for our niece's graduation. You've done a wonderful job restoring the mansion, and Steven, your breakfasts were wonderful! We really enjoyed chatting with you, and will recommend the mansion to anyone we know heading for Spokane.

I have not been there before but my grandfather spoke of it a few times. I don't know if all the things he said were true but it looks like a very beautiful place.

Dear Mike and Steven, I'm so grateful to have had you as hosts for the visiting artist from Seattle. Alfredo Arreguin and his wife were so impressed with Muzzy Mansion and your gracious hospitality that Alfredo even talked about it and thanked us during the panel discussion on Ruben Trejo's work! Thank you so much!

Dear Mike and Steven, Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at the Mansion. You were both very gracious and sincere in your hospitality. And of course, what you've accomplished in restoring the Mansion to its former glory... truly amazing! Thanks so much - Sincerely, Donn and Randy Zahnow

We decided to visit Spokane for a combination Valentines/anniversary getaway, while we were there we also visited with friends and family. Trying to squeeze so much into one weekend was chaotic to say the least. Choosing to stay at the Muzzy Mansion was the best decision we could have made because it was a peaceful haven amidst all of the chaos. We stayed in Hiram's Room. The room was absolutely beautiful (I really loved the stained glass), but the best part was the jacuzzi tub in the private bathroom. At the end of the day, it was so peaceful and relaxing to be able to come back to the room and just be alone and enjoy each others company. The morning we checked out we found two red roses and a card wishing us a happy valentines day and anniversary with our morning tea. The mansion itself is so full of history it is truly amazing, and the personal attention to detail was fantastic (they even made sure my husband had his morning Pepsi) One need only stay here once to realize that there is truly no place better to stay while you are in Spokane. Thanks Mike and Steven for sharing your wonderful mansion with us, it is the only place we want to stay in Spokane from now on.

Breaking news from Spokane, Wa, a city in Eastern Washington state, indicates that a spectacular soiree was held tonight at the fabled Muzzy Mansion, an early day home recently restored to its original grandeur.

On hand to greet their fortunate guests were the owners and restorers of the mansion, Steven Sanford and Michael Schultz, youthful luminaries and consigneti. A dazzling group of attendees included members of the literati, glitterati, and connisseurs from every field.

The general view was that the Schultz-Sanford collaboration on the Muzzy Mansion, a 3 year process of sweeping scope and vision, had yielded a rare masterpiece unsurpassed in memory of those passing the portals of the manse.

A grand staircase of monumental elegance and unsurpassed beauty showcased an elegant foyer, with the evening chill of a February evening softened by a blaze in the welcoming fireplace. From the foyer, guests were surrounded by the luxury of the spacious drawing room, and a visit to the sumptuous formal dining room drew words of appreciation from all present. An elaborately detailed wood ceiling with graceful chandelier highlighted the dining room.

Room after room unfolded before the appreciative guests, including a wonderful foyer at the top of the grand staircase. From the second floor spacious foyer, one beheld a beautiful master bedroom with an incredible en suite bathroom with a glorious bathtub of unsurpassed elan and panache.

From the west wall of the master suite, a stately window, topped by a 120 year old stained glass creation, drew the eye toward distant Maple Boulevard. One guest confided that the stained glass window was made in the workshop of Pierre de Bounnard in the Rue de la Madelaine in Paris, France, in the Reign of Louis Phillipe.

Among the notable guests with Earl Henry Davis and Kathy Davis of Corbin Park's Park Place Boulevard. Mr. Davis was born and raised in the Sherwood Estate on Summit Boulevard. Earl Davis is noted as a walking history book on the Summit Boulevard section, and he and Mr. Schultz discussed historical vignettes of that noted area. Also present were Douglas Sutherlin and his wife, Georgiana de Belasis Greer Colthurst-Bowen-Colthurst Sutherlin. Mrs. Sutherlin is a native of Victoria, British Columbia, and the owner of Dripsey Castle and Craigdarahooid Castles in County Court, Ireland.

Mrs. Sutherlin, who family has owned the Irish Castles and other Stately Homes in Europe, testifies that the Muzzy Mansion is a resplendent example of a restored Great Home without equal.

One almost heard a lovely aria by Maria Callas wafting through the gracious rooms of the gorgeous home, and only the loveliest, most vibrant, haunting melody sung by the beloved chanteuse could equal the symphony of beauty, grace and elegant repose achieved in the Muzzy Mansion by the Sanford-Schultz creative symphony.
